The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations has described as false, circulating reports circulating requesting some employees to claim some special payments.
The news alert making waves on social media suggests the Ministry is issuing an amount of GH₵575.10 to these workers.
“According to said circulation, the targeted workers after checking their details on the site should then proceed to the Ministry to receive payment of benefits of Five Hundred and Seventy-five Ghana Cedis and Ten pesewas (GHC 575.10),” it said.
The alert is requesting workers to visit a certain website to provide their details for their claims in order for payment to be made.
But the Ministry in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Unit has denied issuing any such directive, indicating that the website accompanying the said report does not belong to the Ministry.
