Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh has just been granted Tanzanian citizenship, making him eligible to play for the Taifa Stars, Tanzania’s national team.
This news comes less than a year after Keyekeh moved to Tanzania to play for Singida Black Stars.¹
Keyekeh and two other foreign-based players, Josephat Arthur Bada from Ivory Coast and Muhamed Damaro Camara from Guinea met all the legal requirements for naturalization under Tanzanian law.
The Tanzania Immigration Department confirmed this in a statement, citing sections 9 and 23 of the Tanzanian Citizenship Act, Chapter 357.
Before joining Singida Black Stars, Keyekeh played for Karela United and had a stint with Asante Kotoko, although he didn’t quite meet expectations.
However, he succeeded with Samartex, helping the club win the Ghana Premier League.
