Electroland Ghana Limited makes commitment to donate US$60,000 to Sports Ministry to support Black Stars
Electroland Ghana Limited has pledged to donate US$60,000 to the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture to support the Black Stars of Ghana.
It comes as a response to the call by the President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on the corporate community to financially support the country’s national team.
It can be recalled that earlier this year, the President at a breakfast meeting hosted a number of players from the corporate community.
At the meeting, he urged for support to raise US$25 million to help the Black Stars ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament and the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Meeting the Minister of Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif today, officials of Electroland Ghana Limited has pledged to donate US$60,000.
According to managing director Mr. Nour Sekloui, the money will be paid in installments for a period of six months.
The payment of the first month which is US$10,000 has been paid today and will continue for the next six months.
Receiving the cheque, Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif expressed appreciation on behalf of President Akufo-Addo and Ghanaians.
