The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO) has fully restored electricity supply to the Sunyani Municipality and surrounding communities in the Bono Region following a temporary outage.
The disruption occurred on Tuesday, January 20, when a faulty transformer forced NEDCO to implement a load-shedding exercise in parts of the municipality.
Working in collaboration with the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), NEDCO engineers successfully repaired the transformer, enabling the reinstatement of power.
Electricity has now returned to Sunyani as well as neighbouring towns, including Bechem, Duayaw Nkwanta, and Tepa.
Speaking in an interview on Thursday, January 22, Sunyani Area Manager Ing. Eugene Odoi Addo said: “Since the incident occurred, our team worked assiduously to ensure the problem was resolved, and by God’s grace, we were able to restore power to all sections of Sunyani. We are, however, still monitoring the situation.”
