Election materials arrive in Oti Region
Ballot papers and voting materials for the December 7 general elections have arrived in Dambai, Mr. Mahama Nuhu, Oti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), has confirmed the arrival of the materials to the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
Representatives from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have expressed satisfaction with the process.
Mr. Joseph Asekre, NDC Regional Director of Elections, and Mr. Daniel Asiedu, Regional Deputy Secretary of the NPP, have described the process as transparent, successful, and smooth.
The representatives confirmed that ballots were properly checked and double-sealed at the Oti Regional Police Command in the presence of other party officials.
Mr Nuhu told the GNA that the electoral materials would be dispatched to the nine constituencies in the region by next week for the special voting exercise on December 2.
He said the CE had not encountered any difficulty in the run-off to the election in the region, and he had toured the constituencies to brief polling assistants, returning officers, and polling agents on the need to ensure free and fair elections.
With the election materials in place and preparations underway, the stage is set for a successful and peaceful electoral process in the Oti Region in the December polls.
