Election aftermath: NDC supporters ransack warehouse in Tamale chaos

Source The Ghana Report

A furore occurred in the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly when a crowd of jubilant National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters stormed a warehouse to loot items, including food.

The police and military swiftly arrived to manage the situation, but the rowdy crowd appeared undeterred by their presence.

The security personnel fired multiple warning shots to discourage the crowd from accessing the warehouse.

The angry NDC youth supporters accused the local assembly of hoarding items that did not belong to them.

This incident follows other cases of vandalism, looting, and violence at various locations across the country.

Unidentified persons alleged to be supporters of the NDC attacked the head office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) at Kanda in Accra.

Some staff reported the incident to the media and revealed that the thugs arrived at the office complex demanding that they vacate the premises.

They were, however, attacked after they declined to leave the building.

“The place has been besieged by thugs, and I don’t know where they are coming from. They are harassing everybody,” a victim stated.

Another NADMO staff member noted, “Every time there is a change in power, officers of NADMO are attacked for no reason,” adding, “We came to the office this morning to work, and the whole place is besieged.”
