Ghanaian musician and songwriter Martin King Arthur, known in the entertainment fraternity as Kofi Kinaata, has said that his new release ‘Effiakuma Love’ was inspired by a tweet from Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson.

The renowned highlife artiste actress Lydia Forson once tweeted and advised him to write a song to celebrate Fante women who excel in their careers and other areas of their lives.

“I remember Lydia Forson tweeting about there not being any song that embodies Fante women who combine education and kitchen work, like an ‘obaasima’ vibe,” Kofi Kinaata stated in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Asaase Radio.

“The song has a reggae vibe because I have decided not to be confined or restricted. Music is very spiritual; for some of us, this is our purpose”.

“Everybody mentioned my name in that tweet, and this was in 2018 or 2019, so I actually ignored it. But unconsciously, I was putting lyrics together for a song”, he added.

The talented Takoradi artiste has songs like ‘Thy Grace’, ‘Have Mercy’, ‘Adam and Eve’, ‘Behind the Scenes’, ‘Susuka’, ‘Confession’, and ‘Never Again’.
