The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has restored electricity credit purchases for customers using MMS compliant meters after resolving a technical challenge that affected several payment platforms.
In a public notice issued on Monday, December 29, 2025, the electricity provider said the disruption had affected purchases made through the ECG Mobile App, the *226# shortcode and some third-party vendors, causing inconvenience to customers who rely on prepaid electricity.
The company assured the public that all affected platforms are now fully operational and that customers can buy electricity credits without difficulty.
“All systems have been stabilised, and electricity credits can now be purchased normally,” the statement read.
ECG also encouraged customers who may still experience challenges to contact its official support channels for assistance.
