The Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Samuel Dubik Mahama, has highlighted the challenges he faces in the role.
According to him, his major concern is the safety risk the position poses to him and his family.
Mr Mahama said since assuming the role, he has received threats to his life and the safety of his children and family has been jeopardized.
“Doing this job is not the easiest thing, your life is being threatened, and to put the lives of your children and family in limbo it’s not fair. And these are things that have been happening to me,” he said.
The ECG Managing Director also revealed that his challenges are heightened by false accusations against him and the company.
He bemoaned the growing trend of spreading misinformation in the country and asked the public to verify facts before making accusations.
“It is always when people are complaining that somebody has taken an amount of money or something has been moved, it is not fair. Get the facts right.
“We’re getting to a point in this country, where waking up in the morning and brandishing things that are not true is the order of the day, and that is not fair,” he said in an interview with JoyNews, monitored by The Ghana Report.
Meanwhile, Mr Mahama assured Ghanaians that the recent power outages are over as the challenges that caused them have been resolved.
