The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced the commencement of “Operation Keep the Lights On”, effective Wednesday, January 15 to January 31, 2025, across all its operational areas.
This nationwide exercise aims to recover arrears, inspect prepaid meters, and enforce compliance with disconnection regulations.
The power generation company in a statement highlighted that self-reconnection after disconnection is illegal, citing Legislative Instrument (LI) 2413.
The company further urged customers to cooperate fully throughout the exercise.
The ECG’s regional and district offices will also offer limited essential services to customers during the exercise.
