The Electoral Commission(EC) of Ghana has chosen February 16, 2023, for its planned continuous registration ahead of the district-level and unit committee elections later this year.
In a released program of activities for the upcoming district-level elections, two meetings of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) will be held before the date is confirmed.
The Commission also intends to set up regional and district IPACs as part of an all-inclusive process ahead of the registration.
The registration, if successfully carried out as scheduled, will be followed by an exhibition of the register between Tuesday, June 6, and Saturday, June 10, 2023.
All these activities will be geared towards the elections proposed to be held on Tuesday, October 3.
The elections are expected to serve as a test case for the next general elections in 2024.
