The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has officially announced the release of ballot statistics to support printing ballots for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

This significant update was shared in a press statement on Monday, October 14, and was signed by Deputy EC Chairperson Samuel Tettey.

By publishing these crucial statistics, the EC aims to enhance the efficiency and smooth operation of the electoral process.

This proactive step is intended to ensure all preparations are in place for a successful election, reflecting the Commission’s commitment to transparency and integrity in Ghana’s democratic practices.

The timely availability of these statistics will play a vital role in ensuring that the elections are conducted fairly and effectively.

In the announcement, the Commission stated that it considered the total number of voters on the Provisional Voter’s Register (PVR) while also accounting for a two per cent increase.

This approach is intended to ensure that there are sufficient ballots available for all eligible voters, reflecting the anticipated rise in voter registration and participation.

By taking this proactive step, the EC said it is working to minimise any potential shortages or discrepancies on election day.

While the Commission is encouraging total voter turnout for the upcoming elections, it recognizes that not every registered voter will cast their ballot.
