EC plans 40,975 polling stations for the 2024 elections

The Electoral Commission (EC) has officially announced plans to establish 40,975 polling stations for the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2024.

This important update was shared in a press release signed by Deputy Chairman Samuel Tettey.

This year’s polling station count marks an increase of over 4,000 compared to the 2020 elections, highlighting the EC’s commitment to enhancing the electoral experience for all voters.

The expansion aims to improve accessibility and reduce congestion at voting centres, ensuring that every citizen has a convenient location to cast their ballot.

By increasing the number of polling stations, the EC is taking proactive steps to accommodate the growing number of voters expected to participate in the elections.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to facilitate a smooth and efficient electoral process, ensuring that all necessary facilities are in place to support a seamless voting experience.

“The Electoral Commission hereby publishes the list of all Polling Stations and Special Voting Centres for the 2024 General Election. The total number of Polling Stations is 40,975.”

“The breakdown is as follows: Main Polling Stations – 40,647, Special Voting Centers – 328,” it added.
