The Electoral Commission (EC) has dismissed a viral video that alleges a supposed voters register for Ahafo Ano 1 and 2 was being transported in a white pick-up truck along with other registers.
According to EC, the video is an attempt by some individuals to create suspicion and mistrust for its work while emphasising that the voters register in the video does not belong to the commission.
It clarified that their registers are black and white, not coloured as depicted in the video.
A statement signed by the Deputy Chairman of the EC, Samuel Tettey, further explained that the political parties print the final register for their agents after the commission makes it available to them.

“As has been the practice, the Political Parties also print the Final Register for their Agents. Additionally, it is instructive to note that the truck in the video does not belong to the Commission.
“The Public should disregard the said video. It is calculated to create suspicion and mistrust for the Commission and its work,” the statement read.
It further urged the police to investigate the matter, noting that the registration number of the pick-up truck, visible in the video, could assist authorities in their probe.
