EC announces toll-free number ahead of Dec. 7 polls
With barely four days to the presidential and parliamentary elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) has announced a toll-free number to address concerns of electorates.
A Call Centre would be receiving the complaints and feedback to the Commission on Election Day.
The objective of the initiative is to provide prompt responses to voters so as to improve the voting experiences on Election Day.
0800-100-100 has been secured for this purpose.
“As such callers will not be charged for calls made to the toll-free number,” a statement from the EC said on Thursday, December 3.
According to the election management body, the call centre will be open on election day from 6 am to 6 pm.
“Callers may use any network to contact the commission’s officials on this number,” it said.
On election days in Ghana, the usual problems include late arrival of election materials, the late arrival of security personnel, malfunctioning biometric systems, among others.
A little over 17million people are expected to participate in the 2020 elections to vote for a president and parliamentarians for the next four years.
