Driver shot dead by suspected robbers in Ashanti Region

A 37-year-old commercial driver identified as Amos Adusei, popularly known as Star Boy, has been shot to death by suspected armed robbers on the Ahenkro-Kwaman highway in the Ashanti Region.

The incident happened on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

According to Mr Pedmore Agyei Donkor, the brother of the deceased, Amos had been transporting passengers from Ahenkro to Kwaman when he was ambushed by the attackers on his return journey.

Residents who arrived at the scene reported hearing multiple gunshots and discovered Amos critically injured.

He was rushed to Offinso Saint Patrick Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The police have since begun an investigation into the incident to apprehend those responsible for the fatal attack.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, a fetish priest identified as Osman Majeed allegedly shot and killed three individuals at Tepa-Baniekrom, in the Ashanti Region in what he claimed was self-defense.

Police reports suggest the deceased persons had allegedly attacked the priest multiple times before he retaliated. The priest remains at large, prompting a police operation.

The bodies of the victims have since been transferred to the morgue for further investigation, with authorities working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
