Driver feared dead after head-on collision at Gomoa Mangoase

A devastating collision occurred on Friday, October 11, 2024, in the late afternoon, on the Agona Swedru-Winneba road in the Central Region.

A Kia Rhino (AS 5365-16) carrying sachets of water collided with a tipper truck (GM 2070-21) transporting sand.

The Assemblyman for Gomoa Mangoase-Osamkrom Electoral Area, Adams Suleman confirming the incident revealed that, the tipper truck attempted to overtake a taxi but failed and collided with the Kia Rhino, coming from the opposite direction.

With the intervention of Prison officers in the Osamkrom, the driver and mate of the KIA Rhino who were trapped were removed.

The driver of the KIA Rhino is feared dead whilst the mate sustained severe injuries with both rushed to Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital.

Mr. Suleman revealed that the tipper driver and his two mates fled the scene after the accident and are nowhere to be found.

With the intervention of Prison officers in the Osamkrom, the driver and mate of the KIA Rhino who were trapped were removed and rushed for treatment.
