Several passengers have suffered varying degrees of injuries following a collision between a Yutong OA bus and a minibus at Danuwuri on the Sawla-Wa highway.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning [March 4, 2025].
The OA bus with registration number AS 244-19 was travelling from Accra to Wa, while the minibus was coming in the opposite direction.
Upon reaching Danuwuri, the driver of the OA bus reportedly attempted to manoeuvre around potholes but lost control and strayed from his lane.
Emergency responders swiftly transported the injured passengers to the Sawla District Hospital for medical attention.
This unfortunate incident comes three days after an accident on the Bolgatanga-Walewale highway resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, leaving several others severely injured.
This happened on Friday, February 28, 2025, in the farming community of Karimenga.
The tragedy occurred when a bus travelling from Kumasi to Bolgatanga collided with a container truck parked along the roadside.
The impact of the crash led to the deaths of the eight passengers and caused severe injuries to many others.
Residents, with the help of officers from the Ghana National Fire Service, rushed to the scene to rescue the injured.
The victims were transported to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga for medical treatment.
