Aspiring Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is expected to file his nomination to contest the flagbearer election on Thursday, March 23.
A statement signed by the Spokesperson for the former Finance Minister, Antonio Edem Asinyo said, “Aspiring Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor will be submitting his nominations to contest the flagbearer election at the party HQ on Thursday, 23rd day of March 2023 at 11:00 am.”
Mr Antonio explained that the change in date was due to a request from the national executives of the party.
“The change in date from Wednesday to Thursday is in response to a request from the National Executive of the party to reschedule, due to the party’s True State of the Nation Address to be delivered by the Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia today, Monday at the UPSA auditorium at 2 pm.”
He added that Dr. Duffuor’s campaign team will be present at the presentation and entreats all party faithful to attend.
This will be Dr. Kwabena Duffuor’s 2nd attempt at the flagbearer-ship slot of the NDC.
Dr. Duffuor promises to revive Ghana’s ailing economy within two years if voted as the presidential candidate of the party and eventually elected to be the head of state in the 2024 general elections.
He believes Ghana’s economy is dwindling and will see a massive recovery if he becomes President. He poses the stiffest challenge to former President John Mahama in the internal race.
