Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to always stay humble.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony on Tuesday, July 9, Otumfuo urged his grandson to remain loyal and submissive to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Bawumia, emphasizing the importance of listening and obeying his guidance.

“Don’t let Dr. Bawumia regret selecting you as his running mate. Be humble and submissive to him. Do only what he teaches you to do,” he advised.

Regarding perceptions of arrogance surrounding Dr. Opoku Prempeh, Otumfuo stood by him, urging him not to validate these perceptions.

“They say you are arrogant, don’t let what they say be the reality,” the Asantehene said.

The revered chief expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia, and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for choosing Dr. Opoku Prempeh as the running mate.

He also called on Dr Bawumia to mentor Dr Opoku Prempeh effectively and keep him on the right path.

“Train him, and if he goes astray, let me know so I can advise him,” Otumfuo added.

The NPP is officially outdooring Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, as the running mate today, at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The unveiling of Dr. Opoku Prempeh marks a significant step in the NPP’s campaign for the 2024 general election, as the party rallies behind its new ticket to maintain its governance and leadership in Ghana.
