Don’t Focus On Closed Doors, Focus On Open Doors – Bagbin To Former Minority Leadership

Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has urged the former Minority Leadership led by Haruna Iddrisu to remain resolute, even in the storm.

Mr Bagbin believes that even when one door closes, many more will open for them in the future.

“All I can say to the former leaders is that the Lord is your shepherd; you shall not want. When one door closes, many doors open, and I can tell you for sure that many open doors are better and higher than the closed doors. Look at the open doors and not the closed ones,” he said on Tuesday, February 7.

Last month, the NDC, as part of its restructuring, announced that Dr Cassiel Ato Forson would replace Haruna Iddrisu as the New Leader.

Deputy Minority Leader James Klutse Avedzi was also removed and replaced with Ellembelle MP Armah Kofi Buah.

In the case of Muntaka Mubarak, he was replaced by Kwame Governs Agbodza as the new Chief Whip.

The Speaker of Parliament also applauded the former leadership for their immense contribution and stellar performance.

He recounted events that led to him becoming the Speaker of Parliament and said he would never forget the various roles they all played on that fateful day.

“I will never forget your sacrifices. I will never forget what happened that day, and I want to assure you of my continued support and guidance so long as I continue to be Speaker”.

Mr Bagbin reminded the former leaders that they are still beloved members of the NDC.
