An explosion on the Buduburam stretch of the Kasoa-Winneba Highway during a rock blasting by a construction company has reportedly killed four persons.
Several others are in critical condition following the tragedy which occurred on the same day 13 persons lost their lives in the Ashanti Region.
According to eyewitnesses, the construction company in charge of the road dualisation project stopped all the vehicles plying the stretch to make way for the blast.
However, the process went wrong when flying rocks hit people in their cars, homes and the market.
This prompted some angry residents of the area to attack workers of the company since this was not the first of such incidents.
Meanwhile, a Chinese man who is leading the team has been arrested.
The injured have been rushed to the St Gregory Hospital in Buduburam
