Delay: No Liposuction for me
While a number of female celebrities are going under the knife for banging bodies, popular media personality, Deloris Frimpong Manso is popularly known as Delay has stated that she will never walk the path.
According to her, liposuction is in high demand now because of the hardened craze for superficiality.
“There’s this hardened craze for superficiality and that is why people will go under the knife to change their bodies. Since when did we get here? It is something I can never do. Well, perhaps I’m a villager because my focus and ambitions are not about what I wear. I am a very easygoing person. I’m a very grounded and simple person who doesn’t bother myself over frivolous things,” she said.
The host of Delay Show also blamed celebrities for negatively influencing their followers.
“When I wake up, I only think about my job and how to survive. I understand that some of our celebrities are part of this mess because they post pictures of their expensive lifestyles and vacations in places like Dubai.
“All these are putting pressure on young girls who are doing everything to have that kind of lifestyle and also flaunt them on social media.
“Where from all this? So now, the devil is also taking advantage of social media to use such people to the extent that, some young girls are forced to engage in shameful sexual acts in Dubai just to acquire status and also flaunt designer wears among others. “Is this the kind of life we want?” she said.
Speaking on Pure FM’s Bar4Bar’ programme hosted by Kojo Sebor, Delay disclosed that she was tagged a “villager and weird” when she started hosting her midmorning show in the Twi language back then.
“At that time, the likes of Maame Dokono and some oldies were presenting in the Twi language while the English language seemed to be a preserve for the young ones.
“The likes of Wolf, Caroline Simpson, Jeremy, Doreen Andoh, and other known faces were all speaking the English language and it was quite weird I hosted in Twi.
“But today, corporate brands like Coca-Cola, Vodafone, and Ideal Milk are all going along with some appealing Twi slogans for advertisement purposes. Twi has become the new flex,” she said.
