Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew is in line to win the 2023-2024 French Ligue 1 Goal of the Season Award after getting nominated for the top prize.
Ayew’s bicycle kick finish for Le Havre AC in a 3-3 draw with Lorient made the nomination shortlist for the end of season award.
The former West Ham United striker’s goal was one of two he scored in the game with the first goal being his first after joining the club late in 2023 as a free agent.
He has been nominated alongside the likes of Senegal’s Lamine Camara of FC Metz, Mali’s Kamory Doumbia of Stade Brest and Teji Savanier of Montpellier SC.
The veteran forward’s brilliant strike earned Le Havre a hard-fought draw away from home as the club continues to battle for survival in the division.
He has five goals in 18 league games ahead of Le Havre’s final game of the season against one of Dee Ayew’s former clubs, Olympique Marseille on Sunday, May 19.

The most capped Black Stars player could make his 200th Ligue 1 appearance against Marseille after featuring in Le Havre’s 1-0 loss to FC Nantes that marked his 199th league appearance.
