‘Death Flash Before My Eyes’ – Funny Face Recounts Escaping Life-Threatening Accident
Comedian Richmond Benson Nana Yaw Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, has escaped death in a near-fatal accident on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
The comedian said he was on his way to patch things up in Kumasi with his children and their mother, with whom he has publicly been at loggerheads.
“I am going to Kumasi to officially apologize to Vanessa’s parents, so I can have my children back,” he had said.
Narrating how the Saturday, August 28th incident nearly caused his life, the comedian said “I saw death flash before my eyes when an articulator truck crossed me, I had to maneuver which caused the car to fly in the air before landing on the ground, causing the rims to break and all three tyres deflated.
Funny Face disclosed he was travelling in a vehicle Adebayo gave him with the registration number, SEA-1-13.
Taking to Instagram to share a video of the vehicle after the accident, he expressed appreciation to God for saving his life.

The comedian’s allusion to having suffered in life is partly connected to the series of unfortunate public events, some of which have seen him exchanging words via social media with other comedic actors including Kwadwo “Lil Win” Nkansah.
Funny Face’s family troubles also led him to be confined at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital earlier this year, after a court ruling.
The court also extended his stay at the mental health facility when the doctor attending to the actor recommended that he needed some more time to go through treatment.
The comedian was in court after the police arrested him in Kasoa for unlawfully discharging a firearm at a drinking pub.
According to the Central Regional Police PRO, DSP Irene Serwaa Oppong, Funny Face had been reported for causing a disturbance in a pub.
She stated that their investigations revealed the actor had gone to the pub where a misunderstanding ensued between him and the owner.
Although the two were separated, Funny Face went home, returned with a gun, and fired warning shots.
During the first hearing, the judge committed the actor to the psychiatric hospital for two weeks.
The judge said Funny Face may be having a mental crisis and possibly going through depression.
