A police officer, Abdul Rashid, has been found dead in his home at Abeka-Lapaz in Accra.
Rashid was found with a gunshot wound.
Until his death, the officer worked with the Police Headquarters Counter-Terrorism Directorate.
According to the police, the incident happened on Sunday, July 19, 2020.
A police Facebook post said investigations had commenced into the circumstances which led to the incident.
The post further said the investigations would unravel who murdered the officer.
The pistol, which is believed to have been used, was retrieved from the scene and is in police custody.
Meanwhile, a sister of the deceased, Shakira Nasir, 21, who resided with the deceased and was present at the time of the incident, is also in police custody, assisting with the investigation.
