David Ocloo resigns as Asante Kotoko assistant coach
Asante Kotoko assistant coach David Ocloo has reportedly resigned from his position at the club.
Ocloo, who had been part of the technical team since September 2021, stepped down before the team’s 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
Ocloo originally joined Asante Kotoko as an assistant coach under head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, alongside John Eduafo.
The team achieved success in the 2021/22 season, winning the Ghana Premier League title. However, following that triumph, the entire technical team took a hiatus for the following season.
Ocloo then spent time with Hearts of Oak during the 2022/23 season, first as an assistant coach and later as interim head coach.
He returned to Kotoko for the 2023/24 season to rejoin the technical staff in his assistant coach role.
The reasons behind Ocloo’s resignation remain unclear, and it is not yet known if he plans to take up a new coaching role elsewhere in the near future.
