The nomination is a major win for the dancer since he has been dealing with a rough patch with his dance crew and manager.
A few weeks ago, Dancegodloyd missed a huge performance featuring American singer and dancer Usher at the Global Citizen festival.
The dancer has been nominated alongside Poco Lee from Nigeria, Uncle Azeez also from Nigeria, Uganda’s Ghetto Kids, Angel Ngiyu from Tanzania, Hope Ramafalo from South Africa, Wet Bad Gang from Angola, Sayrahchips also from Nigeria, and Manuel Kanza also from Angola.
After two years of virtual shows due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, AFRIMMA Awards is set to return with an in-person ceremony on the 19th of November at the Gilley’s Event Center in Dallas, Texas.
The event, themed “This is Africa”, seeks to consolidate the growth of the previous award ceremonies and the massive development of African music culture.
The AFRIMMA technical team put together the nominee’s list after thorough research and due diligence.
Headliners of this year’s nomination list are Asake, Ayra Star, Jay Melody, Marioo, Rema, Black Sheriff, Ruger, Buju, and more, holding their own against heavyweights like Burna Boy, Diamond Platnumz, Focalistic, and many others.
Stars like Ammarae, Mahkhadzi, Gambo, and DJ Snake earned their first AFRIMMA nominations on a practically tight list in every category.
