Dan-Afari Yeboah to acquire rights to popular show ‘What Do You Know?’ from GBC

Lawyer and veteran quizmaster Dan-Afari Yeboah, who has hosted the beloved quiz reality show ‘What Do You Know?’ on GTV for over four decades, has announced plans to take ownership of the programme.

Despite his long-standing involvement, Yeboah has yet to assume control of the show’s production from GTV. In a recent interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show, Yeboah revealed that the show initially had only one sponsor, who eventually withdrew.

Heaping praise on public suggestions, Yeboah intends to acquire full ownership of the show from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and introduce a sponsorship model to drive its growth.

“Many people ask this question, and I think that it will facilitate my desire now to see how we can go and take it. In a fullness of time, which will soon arrive, we must take hold of the programme,” he said.

According to Dan-Afari Yeboah, his dual role as a practicing lawyer has hindered him from taking full control of the show.

As a legal practitioner, his primary focus has been on his law career, leaving limited time for the quiz program.

Despite his passion for the work, Yeboah revealed that his compensation has been inadequate. However, he emphasized that his integrity has remained unwavering, and he has never succumbed to financial inducements to compromise the show’s integrity by leaking questions to contestants.

Yeboah attributed the show’s enduring success and consistency to the team’s sincerity and dedication, which has maintained its relevance over the years.

GTV’s “What Do You Know?” has been a beloved institution for almost fifty years, with Dan-Afari Yeboah serving as its quizmaster for forty years, making him an integral part of the show’s success and legacy.

His unique style of presentation has equally been a plus for the show.
