Creatives are not dumb – Actress Zynnell Zuh
Actress and fashion icon, Zynnell Zuh, has expressed her thoughts on the common misconception that showbiz is the reserve of those who are not smart academically. In fact, it seen as a last resort for those who have failed in life.
To her, it was very unfortunate how people think lowly of entertainers who are just pursuing their interests and passions.
Zynnell who holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Geography and Information Studies from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from theMountcrest University College, last month bagged a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from BPP University in the United Kingdom.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the Gold Coast Lounge actress said she couldn’t have achieved such an academic feat if she were dumb.
“The perception that people in showbiz aren’t intelligent is a stereotype I strongly disagree with. It takes a lot to juggle creativity, business, and strategy simultaneously, which requires a high level of intelligence and versatility, which many of those thought to have lacked.
“Many creatives are very educated and use their platforms to impact society positively. It’s important to challenge such misconception and celebrate the diversity of talents within the industry,” she explained.
With her new academic achievement, Zynnell told Graphic Showbiz she was now set to explore new ventures in commercial and entertainment law.
Going forward, she will blend her creative talents with legal expertise, specifically focusing on the management of her film Production Company, fashion business and charity foundation.
“Earning my Master of Laws degree and Legal Practice from BPP University is a significant milestone that has solidified my commitment to merging my creative and legal interests.
“I aim to build a career specialising in entertainment and commercial law, focusing on managing the legal aspects of my film production company, fashion business, and charity organisation”, she said.
Zynnell also pointed out that this would offer greater value to her audience through thought-provoking films, empowering fashion and meaningful charity work.
“Yes, rebranding is part of the journey. I am evolving into a multifaceted brand that blends creativity, business, and philanthropy.
“My focus now is on delivering more value to my audience through thought-provoking films, empowering fashion pieces, or impactful charity work. It’s about embracing all aspects of my career and interests cohesively.
“This degree has equipped me to dive deeper into commercial and entertainment law, providing legal expertise for creative businesses like mine,” she added.
“Additionally, I’m excited to explore the expansion of my fashion brand into ready-to-wear collections and take my film production company to the next level with new projects”, she added.
