Crawley Town announce the signing of Joseph Wallocott

English League One side Crawley Town have secured the signing of Black Stars goalkeeper Joe Wollacott on a permanent transfer from Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.

Wollacott, 27, has agreed to a two-year contract with Crawley Town and is excited about the new chapter.

Injuries restricted Wallacott to just nine appearances for Hibernian last season in the Scottish Premiership, starting five one them and kept just one clean sheet.

With extensive experience from his early days at Bristol City, where he spent eight years and had multiple loan spells at clubs including Clevedon Town, Weymouth, Bath City, Woking, Truro City, Gloucester City, and Norway’s Bergsøy, Wollacott brings a wealth of knowledge to Crawley Town.

His professional debut came with Forest Green Rovers, highlighted by a crucial penalty save in a 0-0 draw against Charlton Athletic.

After a loan spell at Swindon Town, Wollacott signed a one-year deal with the Robins, reuniting with current Crawley Town manager Scott Lindsey.

Wollacott speaks highly of Lindsey, reflecting positively on their time together at Swindon.

His career then took him to Charlton Athletic under the guidance of former Swindon manager Ben Garner, where he made 20 appearances before his move to Hibernian.
