COVID-19: Five shops at Kaneshie markets locked up for flouting safety protocols
Five shops at the Kaneshie market have been locked up for flouting safety protocols and social distancing measures directed by the government in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
JoyNews reported that the said shops were locked up by environmental health officers during one of their routine visit to the market.
Based on the report, the locked-up shops did not have Veronica buckets, sanitisers, tissues, nose masks and were not engaging in any form of social distancing.
The general responses from the shop attendants were that the shop owners had not made provision for such items, hence they could not provide it for customers.
They were then given 48 hours to make these items available within a 48-hour period.
But after the 48-hour period, the shops still failed to provide the items and thus the closure.
The said shops’ owners are likely to go to court for failing to adhere to the safety protocols.
Most markets in the country were earlier shut down after some traders and customers had refused to comply with the laid down rule on social distancing protocols.

SOCIAL DISTANCING IS NOT NECESSARY IF NOSE MASKS ARE IN USE. I’M AMAZED THAT AUTHORITIES CANNOT REALIZE THIS. OH GOD! PSP.
