Covid-19: 20 severely ill, as Ghana records 262 new infections
Twenty Ghanaians are either severely or critically ill from COVID-19 as Ghana’s caseload jumps to 11,118 with 262 more infections.
Four of them are currently on ventilators.
Out of the 262 new cases, 144 were detected through routine surveillance while 118 were as a result of the enhanced contact-tracing exercise.
The cases were also found from a total of 3,230 samples that were tested.
Also, 58 more have recovered from the deadly virus–the recoveries are now 3,979
The death toll remains 48.
The Ghana Health Service, latest update as of June 13, shows a steady increase in the country’s active cases, which has climbed up by 204 to 7,091.

Most of these active cases are asymptomatic.
All 16 regions have confirmed cases of COVID-19. The Greater Accra continues to lead followed by Ashanti Region and Western Region.
Greater Accra has 6,888 cases, while Ashanti and Western have 1,989 and 909 respectively.
Regions with single-digit cases are Bono and Savannah– both regions have just one confirmed case.
