Court declares famous TikTok Couple ‘Godpapa The Greatest’ and wife ‘Empress Lupita’ mentally ill
The Tema District Court has declared the viral TikTok couple, Godpapa The Greatest and his wife Empress Lupita unfit to stand for the trial for the murder of their biological son because they are mentally ill.
The court made this decision due to a mental examination report submitted by an official of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
It will be recalled that the Tema Magistrate Court presided over by Benedicta Antwi, on June 15, 2023, ordered Godpapa The Greatest born Daniel Chayah and Empress Lupita known by the family as Jocelyn Chayah to go for a psychiatric assessment.
According to Angel FM’s court correspondent, Ama Brako, the psychiatric examination uncovered that the couple had been suffering from mental illness for over a decade.
“A senior medic at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital was the one who came to the court to explain things, she said that the two of them had been mentally unstable for about 11 years and she believed that they had been hearing voices, so if they were there, they can talk to themselves and laugh,” the reporter said.
“The doctor recommended that Empress Lupita and ‘Godpapa the Greatest’ were not fit to stand trial and should be separated and provided with medication. The doctor further suggested that if the Accra Psychiatric Hospital were to admit them again, it would be contingent on them receiving 24-hour police protection,” she added.
“The couple who was charged with murder could be seen exhibiting abnormal conduct in the courtroom, hence the decision to refer them to the psychiatric hospital”.
“So, when they appeared in court, the judge at the Tema District Court said that they should be taken to a psychiatric hospital for examination because sometimes in the courtroom, they will be creating drama.
“For instance, they can chat, laugh, and do all sorts of things in the courtroom, so the judge ordered that they should be examined,” Ama Brako reports”.
Background
‘Godpapa the Greatest’ and his wife, Empress Lupita God Muzaria’ were arrested by the police on May 25 and were arraigned on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
They were apprehended after their second child El Shaa revealed that his parents murdered his elder brother El Waa.
According to the 8-year-old boy, his parents poisoned gari soakings for his late brother to eat, and when he ‘refused to die’, they dug the ground and buried him alive in their backyard.
Empress Lupita ‘admitted’ to killing one of her sons because he was possessed by evil spirits.
She claimed that her husband, Pastor Dan, saw the boy’s future and said if they allowed him to live, he would give birth to more demons who would torment Ghana, so they ended up killing him and using him as a sacrifice.
Empress Lupita added that their action was right for Ghana because their son would have caused real trouble in the country.
