Countless statements destroyed as rainstorm rips off Gomoa Okyereko police station (Photos)
Many statements filed at the Gomoa Okyereko police station in the Central region were destroyed following the downpour on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Items like furniture, computers, and vital documents were also destroyed in the heavy rain. It ripped off the roof of the police station.
Meanwhile, the Central East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Owusu Bempah, and his team have visited the scene to inspect the extent of damage.
Thursday’s downpour also ripped off the Kasoa Bulk Distribution office, which was recently commissioned, and other houses in Gomoa Ojobi, all in the Central Region.
The Chief of Gomoa Okyereko, Nana Kofi Donkor in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report with Adom News, expressed concern after inspecting the extent of the damage.
He appealed to authorities to urgently fix the roof of the Gomoa Okyereko Police Station due to the significant role the police play in curbing crimes and road accidents in the area.
