Corruption will be a high risk activity in Mahama’s government – Haruna Iddrisu
The Member of Parliament for Tamale South and minority leader in
in Parliament is optimistic, the next Mahama led government will implement stricter punishment to corrupt practices.
“His Excellency John Mahama makes the commitment to make corruption once again a high-risk activity,” he said.
Speaking at the launch of the NDC’s manifesto, the MP was convinced eradicating graft is a sure way of ensuring the development of the country.
The manifesto is dubbed; ‘People’s Manifesto: Jobs, Prosperity and more.’
He accused the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of turning a blind eye to numerous corruption scandals since its assumption of power in 2017.
“John Dramani Mahama will find answers to all the unanswered questions on corruption, whether it is BOST, National Youth Authority or Kroll and Associates. It is only in Ghana that excavators can go missing, found and nothing happens. That will not happen under a John Mahama Presidency.
The leading member of the NDC added that officials under a future NDC administration who engage in corruption will be dealt with.
Haruna Iddrisu also emphasised that the former President will “downside the size of the minister and review and reform the Ghanaians public service to respond to Covid emergency and deepen the administrative efficiency of those institutions.”
