Past reshuffles
It is the third time in three years the service is reshuffling.
In May 2017, thirty-one middle-level management officials of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) were reassigned from their duty posts across the country.
In April 2018, the GIS reassigned some of its senior officers as part of administrative measures to realign ranks of senior officers to commensurate various appointments stipulated in the Immigration Service Regulations of 2016, L.I. 2245.
In recent times, the service has been at the forefront of arresting person attempting to leave or enter the country illegally as Ghana sought to insulate itself from imported cases.
