Coronavirus: Ghana’s case surge to 12,193

Ghana’s coronavirus case has surged to 12,193 with 4,326 recoveries.

Addressing the media on Tuesday morning, Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Aboakye said the surge in the figure was a result of 299 new cases recorded overnight.

The number of death has also increased from 54 to 58.

The four new death includes three males between the ages of 48-79.

Explaining the dynamics in the curve, Dr. Aboagye said the country’s total tested cases were 255,971 with a 4.76 positive rate and 7,813 active cases.

“Among the newly recorded cases 13 of them are severe while 4 are in critical on ventilators” he noted.

The new cases are spread across the country with 32 from Greater Accra, 70 from Ashanti, 42 from Central, 34 from Savannah, 17 from Western, 11 from Eastern, 11 from Volta, 10 from Upper West, and two from Oti Region.
