Coronavirus: Contact tracing increases to 600 – Health Minister
The number of people who came into contact with coronavirus affected persons in Ghana has increased to 600, Minister for Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, has said.
The Ghana Health Service is tracing all these affected persons to reduce the possibility of a community spread.
According to him, his ministry was expecting a rise in recorded cases by next week.
Addressing the media on the newly recorded five cases of COVID-19 in the country on Friday, Mr Agyemang-Manu expressed worry that the country’s healthcare system was too fragile to cope with a serious outbreak.
” We have about 600 people that we are trying to trace to check whether they have contracted the virus or not,” he added.
He said the country might not be able to deal with an astronomical surge in recorded cases.
“In the next few days or weeks, we anticipate that we will have larger numbers of people who are already having the disease, therefore, we should all listen to the guidelines by the health officials, because even in countries with better health systems like US and China, it is a calamity,” he added.
Lord have mercy
May God see us through. Eeiish Ghana
I foresaw what the minister talked about, it’s now time for them to focus more on improving our health system instead of quickly rushing to developed countries for healthcare. What scares me most is what happens when Community spread becomes the eminent, the poor and vulnerable are those who would be affected the most.
God help Mother Ghana
Well Said minister,
God Please help my nation Ghana. Lets all pray for mother GHANA.
THANKS
You have to listen to health minister. The sound of his voice even scares me. From his voice, He has “given up” on the fight.
For whatever reason, the UG and BOG Hospitals remains closed in this extraordinary time.
