Suspended Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Adjenim Boateng Adjei is demanding a public hearing in the upcoming enquiry of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) over allegations of conflict of interest.

According to lawyers of the suspended PPA boss, this action has become necessary due to the gravity of the accusation.

Lawyer for the accused, Yaw Oppong, in a letter to the Commissioner of CHRAJ stressed the need for his client, A.B. Adjei to be given a public hearing.

“Pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 6 of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (Investigations Procedure) Regulations, 2010, C. I. 67, our Client hereby requests your outfit for a full and public hearing of the complaint,” extracts of the letter available to The Ghana Report reads.

It further said Mr. A.B. Adjei is confident that he will be vindicated by proper and sound enquiry into the merits of the complaint against him.

“We are of the humble opinion that the interests of justice will be better served by a public hearing of the complaint, rather than an in-camera hearing,” the letter concluded.

Following the airing of the ”contracts for sale saga” documentary by Manesseh Azure Awuni, President Akufo-Addo suspended Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei and subsequently referred the allegations of corruption and conflict of interest to the Office of the Special Project and CHRAJ respectively
