“Competent” Akufo-Addo, Bawumia have done “wonders”– Kufuor
Former President, John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor, has entreated Ghanaians to reward the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with another four-year mandate in the 2020 polls.
He has applauded President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for performing creditably.
He said the two “have done wonders” since taking over the reins of the country from the NDC in 2017.
“There is no alternative to the NPP government as it stands” he said.
Just as he served two terms from 2001 to 2009, Mr Kufuor, who was the first NPP president of Ghana wants Mr Akufo-Addo to also serve for a double term.
Mr Kufuor who addressed members of the party at the launch of its 2020 Manifesto Launch via a video recording observed the current administration has served Ghana “very well”.
To buttress his point, he indicated that the management of the COVID-19 outbreak that has attracted credit from the international community was a testament to the government’s performance.
He has endorsed the “professional and competent performance of this government” by highlighting achievements in the area of education, Planting for Food and Jobs, One-District-One-Factory, health, roads and investment from the international business community.
For him, Ghana’s fortunes have been reversed from the slump suffered about three years ago as all sectors now hold promise for exponential gains.
He urged Ghanaians not to sideline the gains chalked by the current government to go and experiment with another party which would start from the bottom.
Ahead of the launch of the manifesto, the government, led by Dr Bawumia ,released its achievement in infrastructure provision last Tuesday.
Dr Bawumia said over 17,000 projects have been initiated by the government and unveiled a website for the tracking of the projects.
Dr Bawumia said at the event that in less than four years, the NPP has fulfilled 80% of its promises to Ghanaians.
