Collapsed MFIs: Receiver relocates validation teams to uniCredit

The Receiver of the 347 micro-finance companies and the 23 Savings and Loans and Finance Houses whose licenses were revoked has informed depositors about the latest efforts to pay claims.

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) revoked the licences of the firms on May 31, 2019, citing insolvency and various infractions.

In a bid to expedite processing of claims for payments to be made to hundreds of clients whose investments are locked up at the defunct firms, the Receiver, Eric Nana Nipah, has announced a relocation of some teams.

“The Receiver’s Validation Teams will be relocated from the Project Office, 25B Manet Towers-Airport City, to the former head office of uniCredit Savings and Loans, No. 3 North Ridge Lane, North Ridge, Accra, (near Accra High School) effective Monday, January 27, 2020.

This was contained in a press release issued on Tuesday which was signed by spokesperson Philomena Kuzoe.
