Security Analyst, Colonel Festus Aboagye (Rtd), has strongly denied claims that he criticised President John Dramani Mahama’s national security appointments.

Reports circulating in the media alleged that Colonel Aboagye described the appointments as unconstitutional.

However, in a statement, he dismissed these reports as false and deliberate fabrications aimed at misrepresenting his views.

“This article is a fabrication and a deliberate attempt to misconstrue my ideas and views on recent discussions I have had in the media,” he stated.

“I have never made any such statements, and I urge the public to disregard all attributions made in the article.”

Colonel Aboagye explained that his comments focused on restoring the national security framework to its constitutionally mandated structure.

He criticised the lack of transparency in the recruitment, training, and employment of operatives under the framework, calling it a violation of constitutional provisions.

He called on the incoming administration to clean up the system, fill gaps left by the departure of operatives, and prioritise addressing security issues such as the Bawku conflict.

“I argued that the system must be restored to its constitutionally mandated status and ready to tackle pressing national security challenges,” he clarified.

Colonel Aboagye emphasised his commitment to providing accurate and constructive commentary on national security matters.

“I remain committed to providing accurate and constructive commentary on national security issues and will continue to do so with integrity and respect for the truth,” he concluded.

He urged the public to disregard the false reports and focus on constructive discussions surrounding national security reforms.
