‘Cleared’ Pius Hadzide a walking example of corruption under Nana Addo – Sammy Gyamfi
National Communications Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has described the deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzie as a walking case of corruption under the Presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the President’s decision to ‘clear’ the then deputy Minister for Youth and Sports over allegations of visa racketeering without making public the said report exonerating him is a clear example of the President’s lack of resolve to truly fight corruption in his government.
Speaking on GH One TV’s State of Affairs, Sammy Gyamfi noted, “What is the key element to fighting corruption, is it not transparency. Don’t we all know that opacity breeds corruption. And so if he has been cleared and there is evidence to that effect, what prevents the government from making the report public. We have been calling for the publication of the report for months but President Akufo-Addo has turned a blind eye to this request”.
“In any other country he will be standing prosecution by now. So, when you see people like this talk and if you’re one who had a flicker of hope that the failing fight against corruption could ever be salvaged under this administration then you must lose that hope,” Sammy Gyamfi continued.
