‘Claim That I Am Not Approachable Is False’- Justice Gertrude Torkornoo

Chief Justice nominee Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo has refuted the claim that she is unfriendly and unapproachable.

This allegation was one of the concerns raised in the series of questions thrown before Justice Gertrude Torkornoo during her vetting on Friday, May 26, 2023, by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

According to the Chief Justice nominee, she has worked with numerous teams and agrees to the fact that she is very strict and shy but welcoming.

To what others believe to be her negative side of not being approachable and friendly, she said that is not true.

“I have worked with so many teams. I remember I have served as a Chief Editor in a company before and was friendly to everyone”, she noted.

“If I don’t have a business at a place, I don’t go there and to what most people will see to be the contrary, I see myself to be a shy person”, she added.

Justice Gertrude Torkornoo who happens to be a lay leader and an active member of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) was of the view that the Lord God Almighty is love and professes his unconditional love to everyone therefore as an Ambassador of Christ she also shows love to everyone she encounters.
