Church of Pentecost Deacon freed after kidnapping in South Africa

Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Charles Asuako Owiredu, has announced the safe release of the Church of Pentecost National Deacon who was kidnapped in Johannesburg.

The victim, Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe, was kidnapped during a robbery incident in the church on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

The release of Elder Cudjoe was announced by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa and the National Head of the Church of Pentecost in Johannesburg on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

“The Church of Pentecost Deacon/Elder was freed last night. He is with his family now,” he said.

Apostle A. Yiadom-Boakye, in a notice, also wrote, “By the grace of God, the National Deacon of South Africa, Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe has come home now alive. God has done it again, miraculously. Thank you for your prayers!”.

A day after the attack, Ghana’s High Commission in South Africa assured that the commission would collaborate with the church to ensure the speedy and safe release and return of the victim to his family.

The Church of Pentecost, on Tuesday, October 31, also declared a three-day prayer and fasting session for the kidnapped elder.

The release of the National Deacon has brought relief to the Ghanaian community and others who closely followed the case.
