As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Chocho Industries has trained women commissioners from private tertiary universities across Ghana in entrepreneurship skills.

This initiative, known as the Chocho Tertiary Entrepreneurship Drive, aims to empower young women with the necessary skills to support themselves financially, even while pursuing their studies.

The programme, held on Friday, August 16, in Suhum, brought together over 30 participants who received hands-on training in various aspects of entrepreneurship.

The training covered key areas such as social media marketing, public speaking, and social marketing skills, providing the women with the tools to effectively promote and sell Chocho products.

This initiative is particularly timely given the current economic challenges, as it offers women an opportunity to reduce their reliance on their guardians by generating their own income.

As part of the programme, the participants were given a tour of the Chocho Industries factory, where they witnessed firsthand how some of the company’s popular products are manufactured.

This experience also included an educational session on the health benefits of these products, further equipping the women to market them effectively.

One of the student leaders, Yvonne, reflecting on the experience, said, “We had the opportunity to see how the products were produced. The place is nice, and the structures and the arrangement alone are impressive. I started using Chocho cream when I had a problem with my skin. It’s been very effective. My grandmother has been using their product for as long as I can remember.”

Several participants expressed their gratitude to Chocho Industries for organizing such a transformative and impactful programme.

They highlighted how the skills they acquired would not only help them financially but also build their confidence and entrepreneurial spirit.

The CEO of Chocho Industries, Sadika Boateng, in her address, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting young women through initiatives like the Chocho Tertiary Entrepreneurship Drive.

She encouraged the participants to make the most of the skills and knowledge gained from the programme, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship in today’s challenging economic environment.

Chocho Industries Ltd. has evolved over the years from a small family business and is gradually establishing itself in Ghana and the West African sub-region as a leading manufacturer of premium quality 100% Herbal-Based” products in the Ghanaian markets.

The company is one of the pioneers of the herbal industry in Ghana and is currently playing a significant role in shaping the evolution path of the industry, through market leadership in product development and active indulgence in social services and public education.

The initiative was in partnership with the Private Universities Students Association of Ghana (PUSAG).
