The chief of Borae Ahenfie, Nana Kwame Meebo and two of his subjects have allegedly been gunned down by some unknown assailants.
The incident happened at Borae Ahenfie, a farming community in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region.
District Chief Executive (DCE) of Krachi Nchumuru, Nkrumah Kwasi Ogyile, also the Chairman of the District Security Committee (DISEC), confirming the issue, said the victims were ambushed in the bush and killed.
He said the late chief had a misunderstanding with some factions in the community over a piece of land, a case he won at the Krachi West District Court.
According to Mr Ogyile, Nana Meebo presented the court ruling to the Oti Regional Police Commander, where the factions were advised to stick to the court order.
He said the chief and his subjects were working on the land when the unknown assailants attacked them.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Krachi West District hospital morgue for preservation.
Meanwhile, 14 people have been arrested in connection with the shooting and are assisting the police with investigations.
