Chief Justice resumes work after 14 days in self-isolation
The Chief Justice, Anin Yeboah, has resumed official duties after he embarked on a 14-day self-isolation in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
After two weeks of hiatus from office, the Chief Justice has made his first appearance when he took delivery of some 100 waste bins from the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources.
He took the two-week break on July 6, a circular from the Judicial Secretary, Cynthia Pamela Addo, said.
“His Lordship the Chief Justice from 6th July, 2020 on the advice of his doctors, embarked on a fourteen (14) day self-isolation in compliance with Covid-19 protocols,” the circular copied to all High Court Judges stated.
“During this period, His Lordship will be working from the Chief Justice’s Official Residence at Cantonments, Accra,” the circular added.
But after the two weeks, the Chief Justice is bark to physically superintend over affairs of the country’s legal system.
The Deputy Minister, Patrick Yaw Boamah, who presented the items on behalf of the Ministry, said the gesture was the beginning of many good things to come.
According to him, through the Judicial Service, most of the sanitation officers had been trained, and “we are here to support you in our quest to keep the city clean.”
Receiving the items on behalf of the service, the CJ thanked the Ministry for the gesture, adding that “this is the second time they (Ministry) have come to our rescue and we are pleased this has arrived at the right time.”
Justice Anin Yeboah, however, noted that the items would be distributed to other regions to support the fight against the pandemic which has so far claimed 153 lives.
“We are not confining all the things to Accra only but we are going to dispatch some to other regions.”
