This is Hudson-Odoi second visit to his native country. Hudson-Odoi spent his summer holidays in the West African country last year after a successful 2020/21 campaign that saw Chelsea crowned European champions.
Hudson-Odoi got a warm reception.
He interacted with fans after featuring in a community football match in Nungua, a town in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Also, the young attacker met Ghana President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra. The Ghanaian leader ordered Minister for Youth and Sports to explore the possibility of having Hudson-Odoi switch nationality to play for the Black Stars.
The 21-year-old watched his father’s former club Hearts of Oak play city rivals Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak fans presented Hudson-Odoi with a customised jersey during the match.
Hudson-Odoi has eight goal contributions (three goals and five assists) in 25 games this season.
